Corporate & Social Responsibility

We want to be a responsible business that meets the highest standards of ethic and professionalism.

Exel Contracts social responsibility falls under two categories:  Compliance and Proactiveness.

Compliance refers to our company commitment to legality and willingness to observe community values.

Proactiveness is every initiative to promote human rights, help communities and protect our natural environment.

As a company we accept that corporate social responsibility (CSR) is important.  We are committed to ethical and sustainable business practices.  This means we take account of our social economic and environmental impact.  CSR is good for the planet, our employees, customers and communities.

There are 4 main stands to our CSR activities:

1. Environment (estates and environment)

We are committed to reducing our direct impact on the environment by actively managing our waste, emissions and consumption of natural resources.

2. People (human resources, health and wellbeing)

We aim to create a workplace that encourages diversity and equal opportunities for all. We actively encourage professional development by encouraging and supporting career development and  supporting employee health and wellbeing.

3. Procurement (finance and purchasing)

We seek out the most advantageous procurement route for the life of a project. This means 90% of our supply chain contracts are through government frameworks, where suppliers have been tendered, audited and checked against important criteria like financial stability and environmental compliance.

4. Community (volunteering, skills matching and fundraising)

To play a positive role in society, we’ve built a culture that promotes employee volunteering, skills matching and fundraising. We actively support local businesses and the communities in which we operate.

Business ethics

We will always conduct business with integrity and respect to human rights. We will promote:

  • Safety and fair dealing
  • Respect toward the consumer

Protecting the environment

Exel Contracts recognises the need to protect the natural environment. Keeping our environment clean and unpolluted is a benefit to us all. We will always follow best practices when disposing of waste and using chemical substances. 

Protecting people

We will ensure that we:

  • Do not risk the health and safety of our employees, clients and the community.
  • Avoid harming the lives of local and indigenous people.
  • Support diversity and inclusion.

Human rights

Exel Contracts is dedicated to protecting human rights. We are a committed equal opportunity employer and will abide by all fair labor practices. We will ensure that our activities do not directly or indirectly violate human rights in any country (e.g. forced labor).


Donations and aid

Our company will preserve a budget to make monetary donations. These donations will aim to:

  • Alleviate and assist those in need.


Our company will encourage its employees to volunteer. They can volunteer through programs organised internally or externally. Our company may sponsor volunteering events from other organisations.

Preserving the environment

Apart from legal obligations, our company will proactively protect the environment. Examples of relevant activities include:

  • Reuse materials where possible
  • Print only when required to do so
  • Recycle all waste
  • Save electricity
  • Save water 
  • Avoid using vehicles where possible
